The Adirondack Park Agency is set to hold a teleconference public hearing for zoning changes in the Town of North Elba, Essex County, on Friday, May 15th, 2020.
Three of eleven seats on the Adirondack Park Agency Board are currently vacant, which means that this proposed map amendment will a unanimous vote of approval.
The Town of North Elba has requested a map amendment to the Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan Map. Map Amendment 2020-01 is a request to reclassify approximately 34.5 acres of private land from Moderate Intensity Use to Hamlet.
The proposed re-classification area includes the former W. Alton Jones Cell Science Center, located along Barn Road approximately three quarters of a mile west of the Village of Lake Placid, and south of New York State Route 86 in the Town of North Elba, Essex County.
