On October 10, 1984, the body of Robert Darling Jr. was found in a wooded area off the Benson Road in the town of Benson, Hamilton County, New York. His body was discovered by hunters who had been scouting a heavily wooded area approximately 1,000 feet off the north side of the roadway.
Robert Darling Jr. was a resident of the City of Gloversville, having resided on South Arlington Avenue. He was last seen alive on the morning of August 03, 1984, by his roommate, just prior to the roommate leaving for work.
An autopsy determined that Darling Jr. was the victim of homicide.
State Police say that the subsequent investigation into Darling Jr’s. murder revealed he was involved in the drug trade in the city of Gloversville and was known to carry large amounts of cash.
