Ti Historical Opening With ‘Singing of the Green’

March 2, 2020 by Editorial Staff Leave a Comment

the little fraudsThe Ticonderoga Historical Society is set to open for their 2020 season on Friday, March 27 with “The Singing of the Green, The Irish in American Musical Theater,” a presentation by Diane O’Connor.

As early as the 1840s Irish-born actors and comedians were entertaining audiences across the United States. Soon after came the stereotypical Irish “Paddy” character used as a parody of Irish immigrants arriving on American shores.

The program begins at at 7 pm, and takes place at the Hancock House, 6 Moses Circle, Ticonderoga and is free to the public. Seats may be reserved by calling (518) 585-7868 or via e-mail to tihistory@bridgepoint1com. Refreshments will be served.
