Well known throughout the area for his nostalgic and stylized folk paintings of local communities, buildings, vistas, events and more, Mr. Wilkinson’s work colorfully captures the unique character of Schoharie County.

In addition to displaying several examples of his work, including renderings of the Old Stone Fort and surrounding historic district, Mr. Wilkinson will provide a first-hand perspective on his creative process and speak about the many things which inspire him.

Several of Wilkinson’s original paintings will be available for sale following the lecture, as will prints in various sizes and copies of a new book on his folk paintings “The Heart of Schoharie County” and his previously published “The Schoharie Valley: Images of America.”

Admission to the lecture is $5 for adults and free for students and Schoharie County Historical Society members. Refreshment will be provided by the Schoharie Chapter NSDAR.

A selection of Mr. Wilkinson’s work can be found here, for more information about the programs, events and other activities ongoing at the Old Stone Fort Museum and Schoharie County Historical Society call (518) 295-7192 or visit their website.
