old stone fort museumThe 2019 Schoharie County Historical Society Fall Membership Meeting has been set for Sunday, October 27 from 2 to 5 pm at the Green Wolf Brewing Company located at 329 Main Street in the village of Middleburgh.

The 2019 membership meeting follows the 130th Anniversary Year of the Old Stone Fort Museum and Schoharie County Historical Society, a season marked with new leadership, numerous new and returning events, expanded outreach and new initiatives.

The event will begin at 2 pm with a brief business meeting, including the election of the Class of 2020 Board of Trustees, reports from executive officers and updates from special committees, Historical Society staff and newly named director Melinda McTaggart.

Following the business meeting, Middleburgh Town and Village Historian Charley Spickerman will provide a brief presentation on the history and significance of the brewing company’s Main Street building and Green Wolf’s Justin Behan will talk about the history of the brewery, the development of their wide selection of local craft brews and the expansion they currently have underway.

Light refreshments will be provided.

The Schoharie County Historical Society is in its 130th year at the Old Stone Fort Museum Complex, publishing the semi-annual Historical Review of county history, and organizing lectures and historical events such as Stone Fort Days and the History Fair.
