Halloween Event at Clermont State Historic Site

October 23, 2019 by Editorial Staff Leave a Comment

Clermont State Historic SiteReservations are now open for the Legends by Candlelight Ghost Tours at Clermont State Historic Site. The tours offer visitors a chance to immerse themselves in history, while interacting with costumed interpreters portraying the “ghosts” of Clermont’s past.

After the tour, attendees can roast marshmallows over a fire surrounded by the flickering Jack-o’-lanterns, hand carved by the museum’s staff, volunteers and local school kids.

Decorations are inspired by period magazines and design manuals. This is a “Clermont After Dark” tour that will take guests through the mansion and out onto the grounds for a lamp-lit adventure along the Hudson River.

Tours run every half hour from 6 to 9 pm on Friday and Saturday, October 25, and 26. The tours are recommended for ages seven and up and are held rain or shine. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children (12 and under). Pre-paid reservations are required. Call (518) 537-4240 for reservations or more information.

Decorations can also be viewed on tours of the mansion Wednesdays through Sundays in October from 11 am to 4 pm.

Clermont State Historic Site is located at 1 Clermont Avenue in Germantown, off Route 9G. The Historic Site features the mansion, formal gardens, scenic Hudson River views and miles of hiking trails.
