Six decades of Buffalo Bills football stories are set to be told through exhibitions, events, and programming at The Buffalo History Museum in October.
The month features new artifacts in the Icons exhibit, an exhibit of original artwork highlighting Bills artifacts, memories, unique stories, and more.

Icons: The Makers and Moments of Buffalo Sports explores Buffalo’s rich sports history and investigates the unique connection between fans and their beloved teams. Icons allows friends to relive magical moments at a game, families to cheer for their favorite players, and parents to introduce their children to some of the greatest moments in Western New York’s history and the impact sports has on our community.
Superfan! by A.J. Fries – Exhibit Opening: M&T Third Friday, October 18, 6 to 8 pm. Superfan! features 12 paintings inspired by items from The Buffalo History Museum’s Greg D. Tranter Collection of Buffalo Bills Memorabilia. Free.
A Tailgate with A.J. Fries will be held from 3 to 6 pm. The tailgate is 21 and over and $10 per person. Advance registration can be done online at buffalohistory.org.
Thurman Thomas Autograph Signing: Saturday, October 26, 1 to 3 pm.
Admission is $10 per person for members; $20 per person for general admission. Admission includes a free pre-printed photo of Thurman Thomas for autographing. It is $40 per autograph on a 3D object with a limit of two 3D objects to be signed per person. Register online.
Evening with an ICON: Mary Wilson: Monday, October 28, 5:30 to 8 pm.
The month culminates with an intimate discussion and Q&A with Mary Wilson regarding her career, philanthropy, life with Ralph Wilson, and more. Tickets are $10 Museum Members; $25 General; $50 Patron. A reception begins at 5:30 pm; Program begins at 6:30 pm. Advance registration is required, and available online.
In addition to the programs at the Museum, people can engage with memorabilia from The Greg D. Tranter Buffalo Bills Collection online. Visitors will find game worn artifacts, toys, novelties, and much more.
