postcard depicting Main Street Fort Plain from the early 1900sThe Town of Minden is set to hold its 5th Annual History Fair on Saturday, September 21st from 10 am to 4 pm, at Haslett Park in downtown Fort Plain.

This free event is a chance for local history enthusiasts to show their collections and exchange information on the history of Fort Plain, the Town of Minden, and greater Montgomery County.

The public is encouraged to bring their own interesting “pieces of history” for exhibit under the tent.  Those with large collections may reserve table space for exhibition.  This year the History Fair will also include a scavenger hunt and a Chocolate Jumbles Baking Contest

This year’s event will also offer kid friendly family fun with 18th century toys and games. There will be German food for sale and Stewart’s Ice Cream.

For additional information or to set up a table at the fair, call Town of Minden Historian Rob Carter at (518) 993-1023 or email mindenhistorian@yahoo.com.
