Accomplished Woodstock personalities Happy Traum, Barbara Pickhardt, Gilles Malkine, Rennie Cantine and Michael Birnbaum are set to share their astute, moving and often hilarious experiences of the Woodstock music scene in a panel discussion, “The Impact of Music on Woodstock Culture,” moderated by town historian Richard Heppner, on July 13 at 12 pm.
The venue, Applehead Recording & Production, affords the opportunity to be inside a recording studio. Officially in Saugerties, Applehead is located at 1835 Route 212, just 1.5 miles east of the Woodstock village green. Applehead produces the popular “Woodstock Sessions” albums, wherein musicians play before a live audience of ticket-holding fans, thus combining the inspiration of an intimate audience with first-class recording techniques.
Sponsored by the Historical Society of Woodstock, the panel discussion at Applehead complements the on-going HSW exhibit, Woodstock Music: In Tune with the Times, 1600-Present. The exhibit is open through Sept. 1 Saturdays and Sundays, 1-5 pm. at Eames House, 20 Comeau Drive, Woodstock.
