The Old Stone Fort Museum in Schoharie is set to host a lecture and program on the private collections of Schoharie County Attorney Michael West, on Thursday, June 20th at 7 pm.
West’s collections include more than 20,000 significant documents, images, memorabilia and other rare, original and one-of-a-kind treasures he has amassed over the years.
West’s selections from the collection he has spent the last 35 years building will provide an opportunity to get a rare and exclusive first-hand perspective on some of the most pivotal moments in local, national and world history.
Some of the items will include Timothy Murphy’s Last Will and Testament, letters written by Colonel John Harper during the 1780 Burning of the Valley, letters signed by Revolutionary wartime New York Governor George Clinton and more.
Admission to the lecture is $5 for adults and free for students and Schoharie County Historical Society members. Refreshments will be provided.
This program will be held in the Badgley Museum Annex at the Old Stone Fort Museum, located in the village of Schoharie at 145 Fort Road, off NY State Rt. 30, 2.5 miles south of Interstate 88 Exit 23.
