June 30, 2019 by Chris Kretz Leave a Comment

long island history project logoIf the thought of W.C. Fields and Ethel Barrymore walking a picket line strikes you as incongruous, it’s time to brush up on some labor history. On the Long Island History Project Podcast, Caroline Propersi-Grossman, a labor historian and PhD candidate at Stony Brook University, relates the story of the 1919 Actors’ Equity Strike and how it fits into labor history.

You can listen to the podcast here.

The Long Island History Project is a podcast featuring stories and interviews with people passionate about Long Island history. It is co-hosted by academic librarian Chris Kretz and local historian and preservationist Connie Currie.
