The Office of State History, in partnership with the National Park Service, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, and the Institute for Thomas Paine Studies at Iona College are set to facilitate three planning meetings to begin discussing plans for New York’s commemoration of the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution.
The meetings will be held May 31st (1 to 4 pm) at the Saratoga National Historical Park in Stillwater, NY; June 4th (1 to 4 pm) at the Institute for Thomas Paine Studies at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY; and June 27th (1 to 4 pm) at Ganondagan State Historic Site in Victor, NY.
These initial planning meetings are expected to help facilitate discussion related to how New York State can and should commemorate the American Revolution as well as act as information sharing opportunities to allow dialogue related to what plans may already be in place at the organizational level.
