In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Warren County Historical Society will host “The Other Milhollands: John and Vida” on Wednesday, March 27, at 7 pm in Glens Falls.
Managing Director of the Ticonderoga Historical Society Diane O’Connor will be the presenter.
John E. Milholland, born in 1860, was a journalist, politician, inventor and publisher, who helped found the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). He was an owner of the Ticonderoga Sentinel newspaper and a key progressive figure of the early 1900s.
Vida Milholland was born in 1888 and, while not as well-known as her sister, iconic suffragist Inez Milholland, she was also committed to women’s rights.
This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served following the presentation.
This program is part of the Women’s History Month series presented by the Warren County Historical Society, in conjunction with Crandall Public Library.
It will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 7 pm in the Christine L. McDonald Community at Crandall Public Library, 251 Glen St. in Glens Falls.

I am interested in what programs are planned for the 2024 centennial of the Meadowmount Pageant celebrating the rarification of the 19th Amendment in 1920.
I haven’t received any information from anyone about programs planned for 2024 to remember the Meadowmount Pageant. I have a substantial amount of information on this that I plan to donate to Vassar College. I am wondering if anyone else is remembering this event.
