Sagamore Hill National Historic Site is set to celebrate National Bison Day on Saturday, November 3rd, with an appearance from Buddy Bison.
Activities will kick-off with Volunteer Naturalist on a moderate walk around the grounds of Sagamore Hill to view the fall colors. There will also be a children’s bison craft available at conclusion of the hike. Meet behind the Visitor Center at 11 am, and be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
The Long Island Vegetable Orchestra will perform on the porch of Theodore Roosevelt’s home using homemade instruments crafted from the garden including carrot pan pipes, squash trombones, and pumpkin drums. This 2 pm performance will include an interactive display which will be available for all ages from noon to 3 pm.
