The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor has announce that new dockside kiosks are being installed at 45 locations along the Canal System this summer.
The signs are intended for boaters, cyclists, paddlers, and other canal travelers, and are intended to give people a big picture understanding of the canal system, as well as make connections with local communities.
Produced by the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor, in partnership with the NYS Canal Corporation, the two- and three-sided signs include a map and overview of the Canal System, a walk zone map of the community, and a birds-eye view of local history. Signs have already been installed at Rome, Little Falls, Lyons, Newark, Lockport, Fulton, and Oswego.
