The Association of Public Historians in New York State (APHNYS) has announced their Region 7 (Fulton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Oneida, Otsego, and Schoharie counties) spring meeting has been set for Saturday, May 5, 2018, from 9 am to 3 pm.
The meeting will be held at the Waterville Library, 206 White Street in Waterville. The schedule includes:
8:45-9:15 Register, sign in, coffee and donuts.
9:15-10 History of Waterville and the Hope Extract Company by Mark Barnes
10-10:45 Central New York Hop Industry: birth, death, revival by Matt Urtz
10:45-11:30 The Revival of Hop Growing in New York State by Steve Miller
11:30-12:15 lunch break with food provided by Roc-Star Foods
12:15-1 Foothill Hops Farm Brewery, Munnsville, NY
1-1:30 Handouts, discussion, APHNYS announcements with Dick Williams
1:30-2:30 Tour of Hop Cellar at Waterville Historical Society led by Perk Stalter
The Library has a large meeting room with tables at which to sit. Limited table and counter space is available to bring books, etc. to sell or exhibit.
All village, towns, city, and county historians plus members of historical societies are welcome to attend.
