Friends of Historic Kingston (FHK) is set to reopen its doors for the 2018 season beginning Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5.
This season celebrates Kingston’s landmarks and local history with an exhibit in the FHK Gallery entitled, “Charles Keefe, Colonial Revival Architect, Kingston and New York,” the Fred J. Johnston House Tour, and monthly guided walking tours of the Stockade and Rondout National Historic Districts.
Scheduled events include:
FHK will host Kingston Clean Sweep on Saturday May 5 from 9 am to 12 pm, a citywide event. Interested parties may register at the FHK Gallery.
FHK will host a book signing Saturday May 5 from 2 to 4 pm for William B. Rhoads text entitled, Charles Keefe, at the FHK Gallery.
The Fred J. Johnston House Tour: At the corner of Wall & Main Streets; every Friday & Saturday; May through October from 11 am to 4 pm. Each tour costs $10 for adults and $2 for children under 16. FHK will make special appointments for groups or private tours.
Friends of Historic Kingston Gallery: At the corner of Wall & Main Streets; every Friday & Saturday; May through October from 11 am to 4 pm. The 2018 gallery exhibit is entitled “Charles Keefe, Colonial Revival Architect, Kingston and New York.” The facility is handicapped accessible. Donations are welcome and appreciated.
Stockade National Historic District Walking Tour: Meet at FHK Gallery at the corner of Wall & Main Streets; tours held the first Saturday of each month at 1 pm; dates include May 5, June 2, July 7, August 4, September 1, and October 6. Each tour costs $10 for adults and $5 for children under 16. Free to FHK members. FHK will make special appointments for groups or private tours.
Rondout National Historic District Walking Tour: Meet at the Visitor Center at 20 Broadway; tours held the last Saturday of each month at 1 pm; dates include May 26, June 30, July 28, August 25, September 29, and October 27. Each tour costs $10 for adults and $5 for children under 16. Free to FHK members. FHK will make special appointments for groups or private tours.
