The Greater Flushing Chamber of Commerce (GFCC) and the Queens Historical Society (QHS) are co-hosting a presentation at the Queens Historical Society in Flushing, on Wednesday, January 25th, at 7 pm, “History and Commerce in the Old and the New Netherlands” by Dr. Jack Eichenbaum.
The content of this presentation is derived from historical and geographical research and Dr. Eichenbaum’s 2016 visit to historic Vlissingen (Flushing’s namesake) and Antwerp, Belgium, also on the Scheldt river, a major commercial waterway.
Dr. Eichenbaum is an urban geographer and the Queens Borough Historian.
Suggested admission: QHS and GFCC members by donation, others, $5; Light refreshments will be served.
