September 8, 2015 by Editorial Staff Leave a Comment

Saratoga Battlefield and Hudson RiverAs part of the 16th Annual Hudson River Valley Ramble, Saratoga National Historical Park will present a Commemorative Encampment marking the 238th anniversary of the world-changing Battle of Saratoga, Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20, 2015.

Saratoga National Historical Park is one of more than 150 partner organizations participating in the Ramble. The Ramble features hundreds of exciting events including walks, hikes, paddles, biking tours showcasing the scenic, natural, historic and cultural resources of the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area. Ramble events are led by naturalists, ecologists, historians, geologists and experienced volunteers.

Mark Castiglione, Acting Director of the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area and Greenway said, “The Ramble provides people of all ages an opportunity to experience the cultural landscape of the Hudson River Valley by hiking a trail, visiting an historic site or paddling on the river and I thank all the participating agencies and organizations for offering such great events. The Ramble along with the many tourism promotion investments being made under the leadership of Governor Cuomo have a tremendous impact on our economy. Recent economic impact studies found that Ramble events generate $21 million in economic impact and state-wide tourism topped $100 billion in economic impact 2014 for the first time ever.”

The 2015 Ramble is presented by the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area and the Hudson River Valley Greenway. Sponsored by the New York State Division of Tourism’s I Love NY Program, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s Hudson River Estuary Program, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, the National Park Service, and the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference. The Ramble is made possible through the efforts of many partner environmental, cultural and recreational organizations, communities and historic sites throughout the region including Saratoga National Historical Park.
