The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor is accepting applications through Friday, October 17, 2014 for 2014-2015 Erie Canalway Grants. Grants ranging from $2,000 to $7,000 will be awarded for projects that serve to advance the goals of the Erie Canalway Preservation and Management Plan.
“We are looking for strong partners who can mobilize the Corridor’s extraordinary heritage assets to create long-term value for our communities and locally-based economies,” said Erie Canalway Executive Director Bob Radliff.
Erie Canalway has awarded more than $350,000 in grants to date to help communities and organizations preserve and share New York’s canal heritage and attract residents and visitors.
Proposals related to historic preservation, conservation, recreation, interpretation, tourism, and community development will be considered. Awards must be matched dollar for dollar.
Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) not-for-profits, municipalities, and federally recognized Indian Tribes; projects must be based within the boundaries of the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor.
