On Saturday January 4, 2014 Crailo State Historic Site will welcome visitors for its annual Twelfth Night Celebration from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Twelfth Night was one of the traditional holidays celebrated by the Dutch and English colonists of early New York. Twelfth Night was the final holiday of the season and was marked with unsurpassed feasting and revelry.
Featured during the event will be decorations, hearthside cooking demonstrations, seasonal music, seventeenth century reenactors, the Jolly Toy lady, and refreshments. In addition the Marketplace Museum Shop will be open, with a selection of unique items.
Admission to the Crailo event is $6 adults/ $5 seniors and students/ $1 children under 12 and $4.00 for Friends members. Special Combo Admission to both sites: $7 adults/ $6 seniors and students/ $2 children under 12/ $5 Friends members.The snow date is January 5.
Visitors can then take a short drive across the River to Schuyler Mansion State Historic Site for “Salutations of the Season!” The site will play host to an indoor/outdoor event with 18th-century food, music and reenactors, and wassail toasts around bonfires.
