Mount Lebanon Shaker Museum Preservation Reception

September 11, 2013 by Editorial Staff Leave a Comment

DSC_0146On Wednesday, September 25 the Shaker Museum – Mount Lebanon will hold an open house and reception with the Preservation League of New York State to celebrate the collaborative restoration efforts of the two organizations.

The Shaker Museum recently received a loan from The Preservation League of New York State to support the preservation projects currently underway at the North Family.

The Museum and the Preservation League of New York State are co-hosting the event, which begins at 5:00 PM with an optional guided tour of the 1824 Mount Lebanon Meetinghouse now used as the Heyniger Memorial Library at Darrow School, including access to the fifth floor attic with its unusual bent-beam construction.

A wine and cheese reception with tours of other buildings at the North Family will take place from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Casual dress and sturdy shoes are recommended as this is an active work site.

There is no cost for the reception, but space is limited and reservations are required by Monday, September 23. Call Shelley LaClair at the Preservation League of New York at (518) 462-5658 x13 to reserve a spot.
